The third European Partnership Stakeholder Forum “20 years of European Partnerships: Reflecting on the past – Shaping the Future” was co-organised by ERA-LEARN and the European Commission on 4 and 5 December 2024 in Brussels. This event attracted more than 300 participants from Co-funded, Co-programmed and Institutionalised European Partnerships’ stakeholders, including national and regional governments, public funding agencies, private sector and other R&I policy makers.
The Forum highlighted the relevant achievements of the European Partnerships in the last two decades to the development of the ERA, by promoting transnational collaboration in research and innovation and mobilising dedicated national and regional resources for this aim.
In the different sessions and in the high-level panel discussions there were tackled the opportunities and the different challenges that the European Partnerships face. In the parallel Workshop of the Cluster 1, it was presented the ERA4Health partnership and discussed two relevant topics in the field of Health: AI in healthcare and Health and societal readiness. In this context, the challenges and potential solutions on how better implement health partnerships the aspects of health and societal readiness, public engagement, Responsible Research and Innovation and outreach activities were discussed in the session moderated by ERA4Health representatives, Jessy Claeys (ILVO, ERA4Health Communication responsible) and Cristina Nieto (ISCIII, ERA4Health coordinator).
In this Forum strategic discussions took place about the preparations for the 10th Framework Programme and the potential solutions to overcome the main challenges encountered in the implementation of the European Partnerships. It was highlighted how European Partnerships have effectively contributed to address the challenges and strategic goals of the EU.
