Introduction

ERA4Health launched its first Joint Transnational Call (JTC) for research proposals, co-funded by the European Commission (EC), in January 2023 (JTC1-HealthEquity).

In the framework of this call, 19 funding organizations from 16 countries, together with the EC, joined forces to fund the best collaborative transnational research projects under the topic of ” Increasing health equity through promoting healthy diets and physical activity”.

The table below shows the number of countries and research groups for submitted proposals and funded projects. The overall success rate between the proposals and the funded projects is 32%. In this call, 10 proposals were funded, with the support of European Commission co-funding, with a total requested budget of 12,94 M€.

Gender distribution of coordinators and partners

Among the coordinators, the presence of women is clearly more pronounced, while among partners there is a low difference in gender distribution, both in proposals and funded projects.
